Mondo Grass

A rapidly growing evergreen ground cover.

The ideal landscape plant. Once planted it is virtually maintenance-free. No pruning required and it is not on the menu for insects.

Mondo grass or monkey grass is an evergreen ground cover with dark green leaves that are grass-like in texture. Plants spread rapidly by underground root stalks.

A fast growing grass…

• Mondo grass can cover an entire area fairly quickly, converting it into a mass of dark green foliage.
• Mondo grass grows best in shaded areas with rich soil and good drainage.
• Plant mondo grass in the fall and space your clumps of grass about five inches apart.
• Mondo grass is nearly maintenance free. It requires no pruning, and there are no insects or diseases that bother it.
