Milk and Nutrition

A rich source of many nutrients.

Riboflavin is a B vitamin found in milk and it is essential for a youthful appearance because if keeps your skin smooth and healthy. It also helps turn food into energy and keeps your nervous system working as it should.

Milk and milk products are a must in the diets of people because they contain so many vital nutrients, such as protein, calcium, phosphorous, riboflavin, vitamin A and vitamin D.

Rich in amino acids…

The proteins in milk are high quality because they contain all of the amino acids needed for normal growth and body maintenance. These amino acids also form antibodies which fight infections.

Rich in calcium…

One pint of milk contains most of the calcium needed daily by an average adult man. Children need more than a pint because they're still developing bones and teeth.

Milk is important throughout life, especially in older people. Older people may lose teeth and suffer osteroperosis, a condition in which bones become thin and porous because of calcium loss. It's a good idea for older people to maintain calcium in their diets and milk is an excellent source of calcium. Also, phosphorous, the other mineral in milk, works with calcium in building strong bones and teeth.

A source of vitamin A…

Whole milk supplies good amounts of vitamin A which helps keep your skin healthy and helps toward normal vision. Skim and low-fat milk are fortified with vitamin A which is a fat-soluble vitamin.

Riboflavin is a B vitamin found in milk and it is essential for a youthful appearance because if keeps your skin smooth and healthy. It also helps turn food into energy and keeps your nervous system working as it should.

Milk doesn't naturally contain vitamin D...but processors add vitamin D to help you put to work the calcium and phosphorous you get in milk.
