Agriculture Is . . . the food you eat, the clothes you wear, the green grass, the clean water . . . and a whole lot more!

American farmers, ranchers and land owners are the most efficient producers of food, fiber, and forest resources in the world! Yet, in an international economy, the pressures to remain competitive and self-sufficient are enormous.

Students choosing careers in agriculture may become the leaders, discoverers, decision-makers and entrepreneurs who will share the excitement and rewards of meeting the needs of a 21st century world. Future agriculturalists will work in laboratories, in financial centers around the world, in large and small businesses, and on the land to ensure a bountiful and safe food supply, a clean environment, and thriving communities where people will live, work, and enjoy productive lives.

At Fort Valley State University, the College of Agriculture, Home Economics, and Allied Programs provides solid career foundations through four departments: Agricultural Instruction, Electronic Engineering Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Veterinary Science at the undergraduate level.
