Extension Resource Management

“The well being of communities in Georgia depends on the social, environmental and economic health of the residents.” An essential and crucial component of community well being is the degree to which youth and adults can satisfy their basic needs, including water/food, housing/shelter, clothing, education and health. The capacity of residents, families and businesses to effectively and efficiently manage their money, time, collective base and human capital is also a major part of community well being and the quality of life.

The goal of the FVSU-CEP, Extension Resource Management Program in conjunction with the CAHEAP and FVSU-CEP visions and missions is to facilitate a living environment for all Georgians, especially rural Georgians, to enhance and improve their socioeconomic conditions and to promote community, youth and family well being. The Extension Resource Management Program provides accessible, researched, available, usable and practical information, expertise and activities for targeted populations and communities in Georgia and the southeast United States. The program assists with the identification, acquisition, expansion and integration of individual, family and community resources, which includes direct training, primary resource issues, assets and technologies which are essential and beneficial to Georgians.
